Terms of Service
Last updated: July 25, 2026
These Terms govern your use of Ghost Reviews ("we," "us," or "our"). Ghost Reviews is the operating name of Devon Abernethy, a sole proprietor based in Ontario, Canada. Browsing or using the free scanner means you accept the website-use portions of these Terms. Done-for-you filing begins only after an authorized business representative accepts the separate client terms on a private onboarding page.
1. The service and our relationship with Google
Ghost Reviews screens public Google reviews for unusual patterns, prepares human-reviewed evidence, and may file policy-violation reports through Google's official channels when a client separately authorizes us. Ghost Reviews is an independent third party and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for Google. Google Business Profile is free to create and manage. Our success fee pays only for optional Ghost Reviews filing support, not for a Google product or privileged access. The recent-review scan and requested human-reviewed evidence report are free at launch; any separately scoped future analysis service would require a written agreement first. Please read Google's Working with a third party guidance ↗.
2. Signals, not findings of fact
Scan scores and evidence reports identify patterns and policy signals with reasons. They are not legal conclusions or definitive findings that a reviewer lied, never visited, or acted with a particular motive. You should assess the evidence and tell us about any relevant customer interaction before approving a filing.
3. No guarantee and no special access
Google alone decides whether to restrict, retain, remove, or later reinstate a review. We cannot guarantee a removal, a decision date, or a successful appeal, and we have no back channel or special influence at Google. We provide analysis, drafting, filing, and follow-through through the same official processes available to other profile owners and authorized Managers.
4. Ethical use and client accuracy
Ghost Reviews does not help suppress genuine customer criticism, even when it is harsh or damaging. We apply the same evidence and policy criteria regardless of a review's sentiment. You agree to provide accurate information, disclose any known relationship with a reviewer, and never ask us to file a misleading report or conceal a genuine customer experience. We may refuse or end work when the evidence does not support a good-faith policy challenge.
5. Client authorization, Manager access, and approval
- You represent that you are authorized to engage us for the named business and Google Business Profile.
- Written onboarding consent permits us to prepare proposed filings and, after approval, act as a Manager through Google's official system. You never share a password or verification code with us.
- Manager access does not transfer ownership. You remain in control and can remove us in your Google account at any time.
- Each proposed filing requires its own recorded approval. We do not submit a filing merely because you accepted the general onboarding terms.
- There is no fixed service term. Section 8 explains how to revoke authorization and stop work.
6. Card setup and future-use authorization
The onboarding payment step opens Stripe's hosted form in setup mode. No payment is taken during card setup; Stripe saves a payment method for potential later use. We never receive your full card number. By completing that step, you authorize Ghost Reviews to use the saved payment method for a later off-session success-fee charge only when all conditions in Section 7 have been met. This is not permission for a subscription or an unrelated charge.
7. Success fee, confirmation, notice, and taxes
- Price. The done-for-you success fee is CAD $199 per confirmed visibility outcome. The success-fee subtotal is capped at CAD $995 for the campaign, unless your private onboarding page shows a lower written fee or cap. Applicable tax, if legally required, is separate from the success-fee cap and is shown before any charge. Zero confirmed outcomes means zero success fees. A separate future campaign would require a new written client authorization; Ghost Reviews cannot reset this campaign's cap under the existing authorization.
- What counts as a confirmed visibility outcome. The same review covered by your approved filing must be confirmed no longer publicly visible on the relevant live Google Business Profile after that filing, and we must record evidence of that result. A scraper error, provider outage, temporary fetch failure, or a review that disappeared before filing does not count. Unless Google supplies a specific outcome record, this observable result does not prove why the review became unavailable, and we do not represent otherwise.
- Notice and waiting period. Before charging, we send the client email on file a notice that identifies the review and filing, shows the visibility evidence, states the exact charge and campaign total, and explains how to object or revoke authorization. We wait at least 24 hours after a signed provider event verifies delivery. Provider acceptance, delay, rejection, bounce, or failure does not start the clock.
- Objections and authorization checks. A timely objection or revocation pauses the saved-card charge while we review it. Billing also requires recorded onboarding consent, recorded approval for the filing, and an active client authorization at the time of charge.
- Invoices, confirmations, failed payments, and taxes. After payment, Ghost Reviews sends a charge confirmation with access to the Stripe-hosted itemized invoice. If a payment fails, we make any unpaid invoice non-collectable and may ask you to authenticate or update the payment method before a separately attested payment attempt; we do not submit new filings while an agreed amount remains unpaid. Prices are in Canadian dollars. Applicable taxes are added only when legally required and are shown in the notice, invoice, and confirmation.
8. Revocation, cancellation, and removing access
You may revoke Ghost Reviews' authorization at any time by emailing devon@ghostreviews.app. We record the revocation the same business day, stop new filings, pause pending saved-card charges, and ask Stripe to detach the saved payment method from future Ghost Reviews use. If detachment needs follow-up, billing remains paused while we complete it. We also cancel or reconcile any outstanding Stripe invoice. If a pre-existing invoice settles after revocation before that reconciliation succeeds, we refund the payment. We may contact you to clarify work that was already approved or submitted, but we will not intentionally initiate a new off-session card charge after revocation unless you reauthorize it in writing. You may also remove our Manager access directly in Google at any time. We will complete our own disassociation steps promptly and no later than seven business days after a valid request.
9. Reviews that become visible again and refunds
If the same review becomes publicly visible again after we charged a success fee, tell us. Once its return is confirmed on the live profile, we refund that review's success fee to the original payment method and provide confirmation. Any corresponding tax adjustment will appear with the refund. Bank and card-network posting times are outside our control.
10. Services not included at launch
Automated monitoring subscriptions and paid full-history audits are not generally available at launch. Joining a waitlist does not create a purchase, subscription, promised price, or delivery date. If those services launch, their scope and price will be presented separately and require your agreement before billing.
11. Accounts and service availability
You are responsible for using an email account you control, keeping sign-in links private, and giving accurate information. We may rate-limit, suspend, or restrict the scanner to protect the service. We may also change or discontinue free features. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or that every Google profile can be retrieved by our providers.
12. Intellectual property and report use
You may use a report prepared for your business internally and in good-faith submissions concerning that business. Ghost Reviews retains its software, templates, methods, brand, and general know-how. You may not misrepresent a probabilistic report as a legal finding or use it to harass or publicly accuse a reviewer.
13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The website and service are provided "as is" and "as available" to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ghost Reviews is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for a decision made independently by Google. Our aggregate liability for a claim is limited to the amount you paid Ghost Reviews for the affected campaign during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability arising from our fraud or wilful misconduct.
14. Changes to terms
We may update website-use terms as the service changes and will revise the date above. A material change to an active client's price, cap, filing authority, or saved-card authorization does not apply merely because this page changed; it requires new written agreement.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without limiting any mandatory rights that apply to you. Before starting a formal claim, each side agrees to try in good faith to resolve the issue directly.
